What Career should you choose?

Have you turned 16? It is an important phase of your life. This is the time when you decide which field to choose as your career. Many students are unaware of their strengths and just follow the trends and what others are preferring.
Take the example of current trend.
IT and computers is the hottest career choice for students at the moment. Students are getting into this field without taking into consideration their strengths and interest.
They are just following the others and hoping that this will be rewarding for them.
The result?? Disaster for quite a few and for those who manage to complete the course: they still do not have the passion in it: resulting in a lack of job satisfaction.
You should give a considerable time in identifying your strengths and interests and then make the decision. It may be that you are very good at mathematics so you can choose to do masters leading to P. Hd and join the field of research and teaching.
This would not only give you job satisfaction but you would be able to excel in your field. Otherwise if you choose to do what others prefer, you will end up in doing a 9-5 job with no job satisfaction.
You would not be able to stick to a job and will regularly change them in order to find one that satisfies you: but will never be able to find it as it is not the matter of the job, it’s the field that is not meant for you so even if you change a company, you will still do the same nature of work.
Parents have an important role to play in this and should not force their children to choose a career without taking into consideration their children’s skills and interests. Many parents have a desire that their child become a doctor.
It may be the case that their child is interest in the field of drama or any other form of art. Now if parents force the child to choose the field of medicine, how would it be possible for their child to advance in a field which is exactly the opposite of his or her interests and strengths?
So parents should play the role of a mentor and evaluate the strengths and interests of the child and then encourage them to choose a career where they can work on their strengths.
One last thing: if a person wants to be an entrepreneur and if he/she wants to earn money online, then this is very much possible these days. Making money online is considered to be a separate career these days and if a person wants to choose this field, then he/she should first do some research on the internet to see if he/she really can work online.
Just choose the career in which you have your interests: whether it’s doing jobs on the internet at home or becoming a doctor/Engineer/scientist/ etc
